Lopez Says Davis is Ducking Him

Newly crowned undisputed Lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez has a plethora of options for his first title defense since defeating Vasyl Lomachenko last month by unanimous decision.

Perhaps the most enticing and attractive opponent for Lopez would be fellow undefeated American Gervonta Davis, who is promoted by Floyd Mayweather.

Lopez was asked on Instragram if he believes Davis wants to fight him and if he believes Davis will challenge him soon. Lopez’s reply was in video and it was expressed bluntly: “Fu** no!”

The tone of Lopez’s direct response featured a range of emotions, including frustration, anger, disrespect and pity for the carefully protected Davis.

Mayweather and Davis have repeatedly avoided committing to a Lomachenko fight for years and now have shown zero interest or enthusiasm to fight Lomachenko’s conqueror, Lopez.
