Tank Davis kept his phony WBA title with a majority draw vs. Lamont Roach in Brooklyn last night in a corrupt “fight” which featured a canceled knockdown by Roach of Davis and the revelation that Davis knew the judges were on his side.
Boxingscene.com: …As the fight proceeded into the championship rounds, Roach said the house favorite Davis told him, “You ain’t going to get the win, they ain’t going to give it to you.”
Do you realize what than means? It means squarely and clearly that Davis knew the judges were not going to give Roach the win.
During the “fight” in front of 19,000 in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Davis took a knee which is a knockdown but the referee did not count it as a knockdown, saving Davis from a 10-8 round instead of the 10-9 he got. That one point would have given Roach the win on the two judge scorecards which had the contest even after twelve rounds.
So the facts are, Davis even told Roach he wasn’t going to win, which proves Davis knew the judges were bought and the outcome was a fix. This needs to be investigated and Haymon and Davis need to be banned from the sport. This is a crime. This is racketeering. This is corruption exposed by an arrogant imbecile. This quote by the idiot Davis is the smoking gun, and it’s more than enough evidence for a conviction.
Davis and Haymon need to be asked under oath how they knew Roach was not going to get the win. The last whisk of boxing integrity is at stake.
If this flagrantly fixed fight is covered up and allowed to escape, it will only get worse and more outrageously corrupt rip-offs will continue to happen in the future.
Super champion Terence Crawford was disturbed by the obscene corruption: “Roach won the fight and that should have been called a knockdown. Let’s see what happens… I never seen someone take a knee and they don’t count it as a knockdown… they robbed that boy (Roach) and it’s crazy.”
