Golovkin’s quotes yesterday revealed he considers himself a sort of savior for the sport, crusading to crush corruption. He was asked how meaningful a win would be for his career? “Not just for me, just for sport. I want to bring back position (high status of boxing in the overall sports world hierarchy). I want a clean sport. I’m just a huge boxing fan. I want to bring back position.”
