Have you noticed the American boxing establishment and media are anti Turki Alalshikh, the Saudi Arabian promoter who has emerged as the savior of boxing based on his eagerness, abilities and infinite cash to make the best fights happen, matching the best vs. the best which has only been happening sporadically over the last decade or so.
One of the top boxing web sites revealed the agenda recently in a very, very, long article which essentially tried to manipulate boxing fans to not trust this guy, he’s just a flash in the pan opportunist, etc. It was a ten minute article that could have been condensed into two sentences.
But the establishment views Alalshikh as a major threat because he has the money and the intents to make the best fight the best. So far he’s produced Fury vs Usyk, even after Fury ducked Usyk three times. Turki also has made Beterbiev vs Bivol.
The establishment has two untouchables that they don’t want to lose control of – Tank Davis and Canelo. The establishment controls those two franchises and will not dare risk them in a dangerous fight where they can lose their leverage and value. Davis and Canelo have been steered away from Turki and will only engage in “fights” that they are assured to win, so their puppetmasters can continue to milk them.
I can tell you right now Canelo and Tank are controlled franchises who will never lose, they just need to keep finding certain opponents who will play soft and take the loss for the payday but also have enough attraction capacity to make fans fork over money to watch the choreography. In other words, the secret plan is to keep on giving fans more Canelo vs Berlanga type showcase events, same for Davis.
Canelo and Tank will be continue to be shielded from Alalshikh. But the establishment fears boxing fans awakening to the scheme and realizing the charade being played. So the establishment must discredit and demonize Alalshikh so Arum, Haymon, Hearn, Dibella, can maintain their power and territory in boxing.
We are entering a very interesting era in boxing. A savior has arrived on the scene to save the sport. But the establishment is working to discourage and thwart him.
Hopefully His Excellency Turki Alalshikh shall prevail and save the sport from evolving into a WWF circus.
