Question – Everyone is hiding from Alimkhanuly, but some experts say that he showed his vulnerability in the fight with Bentley. You do not think so?
Scoop Malinowski: Alimkhanuly knows if he looks too great in any performance now it will cost him greatly in the future, and it will cost him money and the big fights vs. the big names who are all afraid to have their career destroyed by some guy from Kazakhstan. I think this reality is affecting his performances now. Still even after the win vs Bentley, no one is daring to challenge Alimkhanuly.
Q – In general, in your opinion, was Munguia’s flight from Zhanibek predictable? And is it possible to believe that Munguia is seriously counting on fights with Golovkin or Charlo in the near future?
SM: Munguia is not even worth talking about anymore. He revealed the ugly truth – he ducked a world title fight with Janibek Alimkhanuly, he’s a coward.
Q – Who would be the best opponent for Alimkhanuly right now, in your opinion?
SM: Best opponent for Janibek? It’s almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Q- Everything is incomprehensible with Golovkin. What will he decide to do, in your opinion? Will he fight Falcao, Zerafa, Munguia? Or will he make some completely unexpected decision for everyone?
SM: Golovkin’s next fight is a mystery puzzle. All I know is he is one of the greatest fighters I ever saw, possibly the greatest of all. I’m sure he will make the best decision.
Q – Alimkhanuly said in an interview that Golovkin is like an older brother for younger Kazakhstani boxers, and they will never raise a hand against him. How do you like his position?
SM: I understand and greatly admire Alimkhanuly’s profound respect for Golovkin, it is the ultimate respect and honor you will ever see in boxing.
Q – What do you think about Meyirim Nursultanov? Is their fight with Janibek possible soon?
SM: Meyirim Nursultanov is going to be great. Golovkin’s inspiration has created a dynasty of great young boxers from Kazakhstan. It’s an amazing miracle. It’s like how Muhammad Ali inspired the future of American boxing which then produced Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Holmes, Tyson, etc. He also inspires so many non-Americans even today. And like how Bjorn Borg’s aura and 11 Grand Slams inspired so many future great young Swedish tennis champions. Golovkin’s excellence and extraordinary career is going to impact the sport of boxing for many years after he is finished.
