Usyk Says Fury Was Forced To Sign Contract

By Scoop Malinowski

Undisputed WBA/IBF/WBO Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk revealed this weekend that Tyson Fury has been forced into the December 23rd unification fight.

Usyk made the very interesting revelations in an interview with Boxing King Media in Riyadh, where the Ukrainian arrived to observe the Fury vs Ngannou exhibition.

When asked why negotiations with Fury have evolved and completed so much easier this time compared to a year ago, Usyk answered, “I think Mr. Turki (Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment). brought some strong arguments into the negotiations. (Note: Alalshikh is also responsible for staging Fury vs. Ngannou.)

Usyk is implying Fury was given an ultimatum, if you want our money for the freebie sparring exhibitions with novices like Ngannou, you must fight Usyk next.

Usyk then looked at the camera and stated, “Tyson Fury, you will be forced to fight me, step into the ring December 23.”

It sounds like the Mayweather-Pacquiao situation again where the head of CBS Showtime, Les Moonves forced Haymon and Mayweather to stop ducking and dodging and fight Pacquaio or there would be severe consequences.  Moonves’ ultimatum to Haymon and Mayweather is the main reason why Floyd was finally forced to fight Pacquiao after six years of ducking, dodging and fake retirements.

Usyk seems completely confident he will destroy Fury.

“Tyson Fury is the one who talks too much. The idea for this is to get into my head. But the reality is, that I am inside his head. Tyson Fury, I know you’re scared to fight me. But, my friend, you’ll have to step in the ring on the 23rd of December with me. And you will get beaten.”

Usyk also said he’s attending the fight because it will be “a great show.”
