Could Manny Pacquiao Be The Greatest?

By Scoop Malinowski

Manny Pacquiao might be the greatest fighter of all time. Manny Pacquiao saved boxing from the boring, dreariness of the Mayweather reign. Manny Pacquiao won’t get these credits by the media but whoever counted on the mainstream media to get the story straight?

At 39, after his latest win, the KO of Lucas Matthysse, he looks far superior than Ali, Tyson, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Robinson, etc did at the same age.

Eight world titles in eight division is impossible, incomparable and let’s face it, will never be equaled or surpassed.

Manny Pacquiao terrified the alleged best of this era into seven years of excuses, lying, false allegations, fake retirements and flat out ducking. While this achievement does not shine on his record, it’s a part of his overall legacy of greatness.

Manny Pacquiao fought every one of his fights with a high-risk, eager to please style to thrill and excite boxing fans around the world,  not to steal money or bore fans in order to protect his record and leverage with the boxing establishment and TV networks. Pacquiao didn’t win them all, he had some tough losses but he bounced back from those setbacks and showed greatness again. Losing is what makes many champions greater, not protecting a record from probable defeats.

Floyd Mayweather did not have the confidence or courage to fight like Manny Pacquiao or face the prime, dangerous opponents Pacquiao faced.

Yes, I think it’s possible Manny Pacquiao could be the greatest fighter of all time.

Manny Pacquiao fought like a combination of Duran, Leonard, Tyson, and Hagler.

I know a lot of people will deny and denounce the notion that Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter who ever lived. But I don’t care. His astounding knockout wins against Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton were of the same masterpiece class of Ali vs Cleveland Williams, Hagler vs Hearns, Leonard vs Hearns and Jones vs Toney.

At his best, Manny Pacquiao was a fighter who electrified the world and became one of the most beloved figures in the history of sport.

Nobody did it better than Manny Pacquiao.

I would guess, Floyd Mayweather deep down wishes he could have been able to fight with the freedom and courage just like Manny Pacquiao.
