Wilder Successfully Ducks Joshua

Team Wilder Did Not Foresee Joshua’s Rise To Power-media-1

By Scoop Malinowski

Team Deontay Wilder has stalled and smokescreened their way to a successful duck of Anthony Joshua.

After months of game playing, media manipulation and pretending to want to take the big money risk to fight Joshua, Team Wilder has finally been cornered and exposed. They sat on the contract for a week and refused to respond.

Now the WBA has stepped in today and ordered Joshua to finalize a fight with mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin within 24 hours. The WBA had given Joshua and Wilder a month extension to set up their unification fight.

“We sent the contract (to Team Wilder) nearly nine days ago now,” Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports on Tuesday. “We’re not even necessarily expecting a signed contract back. We just want your comments. If my fighter wanted a fight, and we received a contract, I would be back with the comments within 24 hours.”

“Nothing makes sense here at all. They emailed me on Sunday [June 17] and said we would be back with our comments on Friday. Why do you need another five or six days? They know we’re under pressure from the WBA and it all feels like a big game, to be honest with you. It’s very, very frustrating and right now it looks like Povetkin is next.”

Of course it all makes sense if you understand the truth of the situation. Al Haymon and Shelly Finkel have their own scheme in mind. They believe they can manufacture Wilder into a money-making star without having to face the best (Joshua) or most dangerous opponents Haymon doesn’t control (Dillian Whyte, Jospeh Parker, Tyson Fury, Kubrat Pulev). Team Wilder never intended to sign any contract to face Joshua but they had to pretend to want to, in order to save face with the fans and media. Just like Mayweather and Haymon never intended to fight Manny Pacquiao but they had to pretend to want the fight – until finally Les Moonves, the head of CBS/Showtime stepped in after SIX YEARS and forced the fight because he was tired of the small profits of Mayweather fighting Haymon’s handpicked patsies and stooges.

Haymon and Shelly Finkel have no confidence to sacrifice Wilder now because they know he’s a limited fighter, a protected fraud and they haven’t seen any significant return in their heavy investment in Wilder. Cashing out now vs Joshua is not the best business decision. Arranging ten more guaranteed wins for Wilder and possibly then taking on Joshua when Wilder is 50-0 equates to many more millions for Wilder, Haymon, Finkel, Lou DiBella, Jay Deas, Mark Breland.

More likely, Team Wilder will probably hope Joshua loses at some point – and then Wilder can scream on Instagram that he’s the greatest of all time.

There’s only one thing for sure. Wilder has to be boycotted by the fans and media. All of his forthcoming sham fights against Breazeale, the Ortiz rematch and Kownacki should be boycotted. A boycott of Wilder is the only sure-fire way to force Wilder to sign a contract to fight Joshua.
